Term 1 covers circular flow, business cycles, the public sector, and international trade with foreign exchange markets, followed by revision and a controlled test.
Term 2 covers dynamics of markets: perfect markets, imperfect markets, and market failures, along with trade policies and economic growth and development.
Term 3 covers inflation, tourism and environmental sustainability as economic issues of the day, alongside economic growth and development topics.
Both exams use Paper 1 (Macro/Economic Pursuits) and Paper 2 (Micro/Contemporary Issues), each 150 marks and 2 hours, with Sections A-C and the stated cognitive level distribution.
Paper 1 covers macroeconomics and economic pursuits (circular flow, business cycles, public sector, foreign exchange, protectionism, growth and development, industrial development and indicators). Paper 2 covers microeconomics and contemporary issues (perfect and imperfect markets, market failure, inflation, tourism and environmental sustainability).
