What topics are covered in Term 1 for Grade 12 Geography?

Term 1 covers climate and weather (mid-latitude cyclones, tropical cyclones, subtropical anticyclones, valley and urban climates) and geomorphology topics on drainage systems and fluvial processes, with mapwork and GIS skills integrated.

Which settlement topics are in Term 2?

Term 2 focuses on settlement geography, including rural and urban settlements, settlement issues, urban hierarchies, urban structure and patterns, and urban challenges, alongside GIS and mapwork skills.

What is included in Term 3 economic geography?

Term 3 covers the structure of the economy, agriculture, mining, secondary sector industries, South African industrial regions, strategies for industrial development, and tertiary activities and the informal sector.

How are the preparatory and final exams structured?

Both the preparatory and final exams have two papers. Paper 1 covers climate and weather, geomorphology and mapwork. Paper 2 covers rural and urban settlements, economic geography of South Africa and mapwork. Each paper is 150 marks and 3 hours.
