Grade 11 English Home Language CAPS past papers

The ATP is structured around listening and speaking, reading and viewing (including literature), writing and presenting, and language structures and conventions integrated into all skills.

Term 1 includes Task 1 (oral listening for comprehension), Task 2 (transactional writing), Task 3 (unprepared speech), and Task 4 (Test 1: language in context with comprehension, summary and language structures and conventions).

Term 2 includes Task 5 (writing task), Task 6 (oral), and Task 7 (mid-year examinations: Paper 1 language in context and Paper 2 literature).

Term 3 includes Task 8 (literature assignment/project) and Task 9 (oral: unprepared reading aloud and/or prepared speech).

The end-of-year examinations total 300 marks and include Paper 1 language in context, Paper 2 literature, Paper 3 writing, and Paper 4 orals with marks and components as listed in the ATP.
