Term 1 covers DNA: the code of life, meiosis, reproduction in vertebrates, and human reproduction, followed by consolidation and revision.
Term 2 includes genetics and inheritance, responding to the environment (humans), the human endocrine system and homeostasis, and responding to the environment (plants), followed by consolidation and revision.
Term 1 includes a practical task and a test. Term 2 includes a practical task and a June examination or controlled test.
The trial examination includes Paper 1 and Paper 2 (150 marks each, 2 1/2 hours) with topic weightings for reproduction, human systems, genetics, DNA, meiosis and evolution.
The final NSC exam has Paper 1 and Paper 2, each 150 marks and 2 1/2 hours, with topic weightings listed for reproduction, human systems, DNA, meiosis, genetics and evolution.
